Print. Digital. Motion.

With over 10 years of multidisciplinary design experience, I bring a deep understanding of both traditional and digital mediums. I’m well-versed in the principles of typography, color theory, layout systems, and the intricacies of prepress and print production. At the same time, I stay current with evolving digital standards, responsive design frameworks, WordPress development and platform-specific best practices across web and social media.

I approach every project with the belief that strong design isn’t just visually compelling—it’s strategically crafted to perform, communicate, and convert.

VISION & EXECUTION
The right direction makes the campaign and no design no matter how great can save a bad one. A great philosophy I learned from my graphic design mentor was “so what?” any campaign should be able to answer this.
LEADERSHIP
We go furthest when we go together, and we accomplish so much more than when we go alone. I like leading creative teams because I like seeing people reach beyond their potential to a place they didn’t know they had.
PASSION & DRIVE
When I graduated college I didn’t have an art-school pedigree. So I worked my way into the design and marketing world through the back door. Pre-press to Creative Director and every role in between.

To Answer Your Question…

If You Had a Successful Design Agency Why Are We Talking?

Looking back on it the pandemic lockdown seems almost like a different timeline, in between Tiger King and Quarantine I took on the challenge of home schooling my sons, both of who are on the Autism Spectrum. Their mother was immuno compromised and for obvious reasons they needed to stay with me. This is a familar story for so many who lived out various versions of this. However, afterwards we discovered the transition back to school was going to be a unique challenge for Autistic children, we had prepared them their whole early childhood for the school transition and all that work had been seemingly undone. It was clear that the boys would be best served if I took a hiatus and dove in deep to handling whatever they needed to get back to thriving in a traditional school environment. My business partner (and brother) understood what I needed to do and so I freelanced, consulted and worked where I could in between my obligations as a Dad/Teacher/Therapist.

I have no regrets, I was never in love with being an entreprenuer. All the non marketing, non design, non passion parts of it where just something I had endured as a way of carving out a corner for myself in this field. Now that I have two boys absolutely loving school again and the amazing experience and deep portfolio of having founded, ran and produced the vast majority of design for a boutique agency I am ready to rejoin the work force, focusing on what I do best, creating campaigns, designs and ideas that produce results.

Why Should I Hire Someone Coming Back from a Hiatus?

Simply put, because I’m going to make you look like a genius.

There is simply no better way to cut one’s teeth in this industry than the way I have. Starting out in a prepress I was immediately focused on practical application not theoretical concepts. Working prepress means you know that things have to be able to be produced seamlessly, flawlessly in order to make an impact.

Combine this with growing from a freelancer in a Northeast KC apartment to a boutique agency with dozens of clients in the heart of downtown and you have the lessons in drive, in humility, in what can be accomplished when passion meets a love of the work. I know what its’ like to run a business so I can design and market for any company because I understand where they are coming from and what they need to have their marketing dollars do for them. It’s impossible to capture in a resume or a portfolio the depth and scope of designing thousands of pieces for clients in every industry, of building a creative team to start doing that for you. Anyone can see what’s in front of their face but hire me if you want to look like you own a crystal ball.  I’m going to make you look good.

What Mediums are Your Comfortable Designing For?

The wide variety of clients and work I have done in my career means I am comfortable designing for all print and digital applications. This not only means I can create or lead a team in designing something visually stunning, but also make sure it gets delivered to the producer already ready to go.

Why Doesn't Your Portfolio Include _____________?

I am just not the type to sit still and pat myself on the back. When a project is done I am not thinking: “wow this piece is actually good, I should save some for my portfolio” I approach each project with the same attention to detail and passion so its difficult to know what to include in a “best of” compilation. They are all #1 Hits to Me.

Please feel free to bring up any specific cases or needs you may have and I’ll pass along additional design samples that show proficiency in that area.
